Our exchange from Germany to Gernika
We arrived to Bilbao on Sunday afternoon. There were waiting the
Spanish exchange partners for us. They had look at us like we were
animals in a zoo. We were very excited and nervous to see them. The
first evening was special for the Spanish and the German people because
we do not know each other. But we were taken up in the family after a
short time.
On the first day we went to the for the Basque important tree and
learned a lot of the history from Gernika. Futhermore we saw the
painting from Picasso. We like it because it is so meaningful that you
can feel the persons pain. Then we had a Basque and biology lesson in
school.
The next day we drove to Bermeo and visited the fish museum. In the
afternoon we went to the peace museum of Gernika. All these was very
interesting.
On Wednesday we drove to Bilbao again. It is a nice city and we saw
the libary of the university, the university and the Guggenheim museum.
We like the buildings a lot but we think that the museum is not so
interesting inside.
After this day, on Thursday we visited the Cidre museum and we were
allowed to taste the apple wine. For us it is a bit to bitter, so we do
not like it. Then we arrived to San Sebastian, saw the beach, the
sculpture and made a lot of beautiful photos. After this we had free
time for going shopping or sitting on the beach.
It was a fantistic time till now because we went out with all
Spanish and German every evening. Here it is very different to Germany
because the people have a lot of energy and can eat so a lot of food,
that is not normal for German.
When we will fly home on Monday we will miss the time and the people a lot. We look forward to the Spain visit.

Day 5 - I think it's time for short summary:
When
we arrived at the airport sunday afternoon, it was very nice because
the difference between the weather in Germany and here was ernormous.
At
the beginning it was a little bit difficult to communicate with him and
his parents but now it is easy and we don't have problems anymore.
At
the same day we still went to the skaterpark to meet each other and we
had a lot of fun. It is good that our exchange partners like to play
football so we often do it and it makes fun.
By
meeting the others it is easier for us to get to know each other and we
all realized that there are some strange but funny people ( Nicu for
example ).
The following days we visited many places
where we got to know something about the bask culture and history, for
example the old tree or the fishing museum.
Othervise we also visited modern places of art like the Guggenheim museum.
It
was very impressive to visit this museum because the building is a big
masterpiece of architecture and the art inside is also very impressive.
Of course not everything was interesting for us but all in all it was very nice to see the culture here.
I also liked the cities here like San Sebastian or Bilbao because the centrum is very pretty and of course I love the beach.
I am very glad that the whether is nearly all the time very good and it is not raining.
I
really like that we meet each other every evening after school to chill
out and play but now after 5 days i can not eat any kebab any more for
dinner because i ate it every day for dinner.
Still it is very nice to meet all these people and i'm glad that i do not sit in my classroom in the cold germany
I really would like to stay longer here, especial because of the nice food they eat here.
I am very enthusiastic and looking forward to when the others come to germany and i think we will have a good time.
I hope the rest until monday will be as nice as the last 5 days and then it will be a perfect exchange.
How is it to live one week in another culture? This was the question we have asked us when we were in germany. Which benefits and which disadvantages have the life here? How is the schoolday? And specially what is the history of this place?
Questions over questions. But we got the answer now. The life is in some facts different but many things are the same like in germany.
By the fact of spain is a very polite culture, our exchange families have welcomed us very friendly and heartful. It is very interesting and exciting to live in a foreigner family.
We have seen many history places, for example the tree of Gernika and the Guggenheim-museum.
In some situations it was important for us instead of get panic to calm down and let it impress us. Also we had much fun during the activities and we have noticed that it has brought us more together.
We will never forget these experiences and we are glad that we could be here. We would always repeat this exchange. Thanks for having us been here:)
