Apollo and Daphne
Apollo and Daphne was sculpted by Gian Lorenzo Bernini between 1622 and 1625. It shows Apolo and Dafne at the moment of Daphne's transformation into a laurel. This sculpture was based on the myth of Apollo and Daphne.
We can see Apollo's surprised face and Daphne's scream of terror. Their clothes and Daphne's hair are very detailed. This sculpture plays with the perspective we are watching it from, for example, if we look at it from the back we can only see Apolo and the tree.
In my opinion it is a beautiful, life-sized marble sculpture that makes you feel what this couple felt at that moment.

Mona Lisa is one of the most famous paintings in the world because her mysterious smile that is what makes her famous. If you look at his face, mainly his eyes, Mona Lisa is smiling, but if you look at his mouth he is not smiling.

The Scream
The Scream is the popular name given to a composition created by Norwegian Expressionist
oil,tempera,pastel and crayon on cardboard.
In the painting appear a man who is symbolising the anxiety of the human condition.In the a painting appear curved shapes each one representing one thing.The orange and yellow curved lines represent the sky,the curved blue lines represent the river,the brown line the bridge and the black and skin colour represent the man.
The artist wanted to express the feelings of an anxiety human.In my opinion,the artist represent well the feelings.

The Persistence of Memory
The Persistence of Memory was painted by Salvador Dalí in 1931. It shows different watches melting, their shapes are mostly curved.
The painting is representational but not realistic.
It looks like we're running out of time. The painting is a little strange but it has sense. In this painting the painter doesn't use cheerful colour, he uses more like, dark yellow, brown... because I think that it means that we are getting without time to do the things that we want.

Las Meninas is considered the masterpiece of Diego Velázquez, the Spanish artist of the Golden Age. This oil on canvas of 1656 is the largest format made by Velázquez.
With a composition in planes, which the artist manages to represent through the different lighting inputs, shows a daily scene of the court of Philip IV. In it the limits between painting and reality blur and unprecedented time is suspended and the artist himself appears within the work. It is currently exhibited at the Prado Museum.
In my opinion it seems to me a picture that not everyone can understand, but it is beautiful for the simple fact that it is different from what we are used to see. Do you like it?

Wheatfield with crows
Wheatfield with crops was the last painting Vincent van Gogh drew before his suicide in 1890 (he drew it in July 1890). The painting is representational and quite realistic.
It creates a disquieting situation for the spectator, who is held in doubt before the great horizon and cannot reach it on any of the roads before him; these end blindly in the field or run out of the picture. It also represents his sadness and depression he suffered, which led him to shoot himself in those same fields he painted in "Wheatfield with Crows".
I think it's a beautiful painting, not as much for its style (it's not too complex), but for what it represents. The sadness and depressing thoughts are expressed very well with its dark colours and crows in the sky.

THE GERNIKA
Inspired by the bombing of Guernica, during the Spanish Civil War, Pablo Picasso completed his most famous work, in 1937. This work was originally commissioned by the Spanish government and was intended to represent the suffering of war and finally presented as a symbol of peace.
I like this painting because it shows what happened in Gernika in those times, and I really like the style he used beause it's very different comparing with other artists.

THE STARRY NIGHT
The Starry Night was painted by Vincent van Gogh in June 1889.
It shows the view from an east-facing window of his asylum room just before sunrise, with the addition of an ideal village. You can also see two trees in front of the work of art. Is painted with curved lines and we can see cold colors.
He wanted to paint what he was seeing through his window, but they didn't let him paint in his room so he painted it by memory and he used his imagination for the little town that wasn't existing.
I like this painting, is very interesting to see this style of painting, Is something we can all see, is simple but difficult to do and it isn't "boring" like other works of art.

Guernica
Guernica was painted by Pablo Picasso in 1937. In this painting we can see some animals, such as a horse and a bull in the sideways and a bird at the background. In addition, this artwork also includes a woman with her son, a soldier and more people in a fire inside a building.Their shapes are flat and simple. Guernica is not a realistic painting, but it is representational.
At this artwork we can see how some animals and people are getting burned by the flames. We can also see how a young woman is desperate because of her son. It seems that he has died in the fire. The soldier, who lies down on the floor, is just about to die while he is showing his terror and sadness as the other persons and animals in the painting. This work is made up of melancholy colours, such as grey and black. All these characteristics express the desperation, sadness and terror of the habitants who were at bombing which took place in Guernica in the same year.
In my opinion, this painting is very touching because of the feelings expressed in it. This is also why I like this excellent artwork of Picasso.

The Starry Night
The starry night was painted by Vicent Van Gogh in 1889.
It shows a sky with two spiral nebulae that hug each other creating the sensation of movement and fluidity. The city is created with straight, square and short strokes instilling serenity. The painting is post impressionism.
In the night sky, along with the eleven stars, a crescent moon of bright yellowish tones is found in the upper right corner, giving the impression of a sun instead of a moon. The church tower and the cypress are the only two elements that point to the sky And accentuating the opposition of the frantic curves of the sky. They represent the great power of nature.
In the Starry Night represents the relationship between life and death. In my opinion is so beautiful and is one of the best works of art of Vicent Van Gogh.

MY FAVOURITE PAINTING
My favourite painting is Yellow, Red and Blue, made by Wassily Kandinsky, which was made in 1925. The primary colors on the painting feature squares, circles and triangles and there are abstract shapes mixed in these. There are also straight and curved black lines that go through the colors and shapes.
This painting is completely abstract. I like to divide the painting in two clearly different parts: The left and right parts. The left part has got more straight lines and angles and bright colours, while the right part has got curved lines and angles and darker and blueish colours.
I like this painting because as it is abstract, you can interpret it as whatever you want. I like to see it as a situational painting. Sometimes you may like to watch the darker or saddest part better and other times you prefer the other part.
